Prevention

COORDINATION Overview

Prevention is an important component of the continuum of care in behavioral health. In the prevention component of the continuum, prevention professionals assess risk and protective factors, relevant data, and capacity need prior to implementing prevention efforts.

Through a variety of state and federal funding sources, Region 6 Prevention Services provides coordination, planning, and implementation of substance abuse prevention, and mental health promotion and suicide prevention activities.
