Region 6 is one of six behavioral health authorities in Nebraska that make up the state’s public behavioral health system. Region 6 has a dedicated Regional Consumer specialist who serves as an advocate and liaison to consumers of behavioral health services within the region. As many have experienced, those of us who live with mental health and/or substance use disorders tend to “put on a mask” to cover up the fact that we have these conditions. At times it may feel we have lost sight of who we are as a person. So, in honor of recovery month in September, we asked peers to show us who they are through artistic expression.
